In Kuala Lumpur for 4 days liao...

Yes, I am in KL for the 4th day already. Flown here with my dad on MH 2591 on 27th June 2009. The plane took us here quite on time, calling for boarding about 15 minutes before departure time; but then since the plane is fully loaded, it took sometime to finish boarding as usual. The pilots flown the aircraft at 800km/j (that's what the inflight announcement told, and this is normally the highest cruising speed for a typical B737). We arrived safely in KLIA under a windy condition on time.

Had some shopping at various points. Been to Tesco extra Cheras (erm...they had power blackout at the time we went, on operation with backup supplies), pretty hot, bought some sundry items. When compared to last July when my whole family first bound for west Malaysia, their own branded sundry needs are a little bit expensive already. Anyway, it is still cheaper than other branded names.

Today went out to KL town to walk around by train. Lots of people using this cheapest mode of transport; but then it is the dangerous way of transport also, as pickpockets might be hiding everyway.

Sunway city is not that big,but then with Sunway Pyramid; I think one can survive already as most daily needs are all in one roof liao....just that foods stuffs might be the same choice day in and day out....and what's more, the school say better dont cook....

Went for KL central today, lots of people and it's far from Sunway City; not so good for me. Better have a taxi who drove me direct to KLIA. Although it is a little bit expensive, is much more easier for me...wahaha...

Moving in hostel tomorrow...will see how's the Uni life later.

That's all for now.

Bye bye.

Education...

Since I am going out to KL next week for my ACCA tuition; let's talk "backwards" about ours' nation's 11th years basic education issues, which is raised by those policies makers.

First, I would like to say about restricting SPM candidates to take only 10 subjects in his or her sittings. Well, this is a GOOD decision, in view that since the first person who make the records of achieving 17 A's in SPM; back in the earlier period of this decade, more and more students are thinking of breaking the records with now about 20+ A's. With this, all candidates shall be "weighted" on the same scale; given that they had the same subjects taken.

However, this is no so good for a Chinese student in Science stream who wish to opt for the Chinese Language paper...since the 10 subjects quota will be full with EST as additional. The only way to squeeze in would be drop any one of science elective, but then I believe most of those people would do this as there had been a deep assumption that "Chinese is hard to pass in SPM"...well more worrying situation for future Chinese teachers qualities...

Next, would be: Should SPM English been made a mandatory pass in order to secure for a certificate? My personal stand is also YES, but then in view that 70++ marks will grant a student for an A; I wander would this policy really works? Let's see how the auhority makes the decision.

Third: Mathematics and Science in English, continue or reverse back to Malay / other mother's language of each ethnics? To me, secondary and above should CONTINUE with the policy; while for Primary schools, better revert back to own's mother's tongue.

Fourth: History for primary schools? Really stupid, more and more loads for primary schools and no more happy for primary kids...pitty...the syllabus nowadays really up side down one...Primary like secondary...secondary like primary...dont know what happen?

Guess that's all.

Bye for now.

Cheers.

Bintulu trip....

Ya, after about 26 months didnt go Bintulu, I went to there together with my family and other relatives...well, considering sitting in the car for 2.5 hours is quite far also for those who is not so enjoying putting their "buts" for long hours...anyhow, on the way down, we saw a couple of places of open buring; even with one particular area that we even can't see a single things...really threatening those who use the roads...and those planes fly in the skies!

As for the town itself, nothing much different when compared to two years plus before; only had an additional mall - Parkcity, more like Bintang Plaza backed in decade ago...(erm...literally mean not so big)...to my surprise is that the Popular outlet there is so small that they didnt even sell much school based materials.... which is quite rare for this well established merchants of books...

Anyway, the main tenant there---new world mart appeared OK to me...quite standard in terms of size and variety of stuffs available...some old old stocks they sold it quite cheap...

Another funny thing is that I wander why: Jiang jiang jiang jiang...the underwear sold in Bintulu's various markets are relatively cheap when compared to Miri and I believe the whole Sarawak, pretty weird...RM 10 can get you 5 pieces....

In conclusion, this round is simply shopping mission...managed to buy some goodies with reasonable and cheap prices...

Happy shopping -- That's everyone's wish when doing patronage with any shops or business entities.

Bye for now!

Freaking weather, freaking hotness, freaking tempatures, freaking sickness....

Yap, apart from the crazy weather that makes more and people's imune system down; the goodies of foods may also invites viruses, what more to say the world is now under critical environment of H1N1 viruses, which had spread it's wings all over.

As for me, just recovered from illness...normal but serius flus again...quite a long time didnt get liao...after the trip from Bintulu, straight away get sick...dont know whether is I "accumulate" lots of heat or I didnt drank so much water during the 1.5 days journey...no ideas...Anyhow, at least after three days ++ rest, it's now sounds more comfortable, with now start to coughing...but nothing come out ones...which Chinese says "Gan Ke"...

The weather condition is getting slightly better with a long rain this early morning...but then I believe this shall be for limited effects only...as haze had been back here for quite a long time liao...turning our environment under oven...

Next Saturday will be 27th liao...and is going out for KL to report to Sunway; well hope it will be a fruitful two years ahead...May we had no more H1N1 being imported...but then this shall be not easy as it is now Summer holidays for other's "four seasons" countries...

Well, that'a all for the time being...

Bye.

Tuesday 9 June 2009

Freaking and crazy broadband services....

Too too long didnt use broadband liao...after one week back to here...the broadband goes crazy yesterday for sometime and then back to normal again....but then still freaking...your line will be "cut off" from time to time...making you refreshing here and there...what the heak...really not a broadband...LOW BAND with high fees...
Really freaking...Wireless looks better....at least being cut off then connect back will do...this one although is really broadband...but then the services had been out for few years liao...still go hair wire from time to time....

Agh!

Bye!

One week passed....blended issues once again...

REVISED VERSION ON REQUEST: TWO PHOTOS FIRST

The content:

Long time not see...one week had passed since I am backed in Miri, here from Brunei.
Well, first day of Gawai; went for Bintang Mega Mall to have a closer look at the new wings since it's official soft opening on Labour day. Not many tenant yet, but many well estalished names are coming to Miri...at that Mall...making it really an estalished Mall...you named it, they have it...pretty nice ha...for Mirian...finally have something which is well furnished that is ideal for shopping.

Anyway, not all people seems like it; my cousins who came backed in few days past (well, after a long long time of talking wanted to come to Miri) claimed that is is not nice to shop. I also dont understand why...it's pretty big already when compared to decade ago (1997). May be there is different definition of the term "enjoyable", I guess.

Next up, let's talk about the Fokker 50 planes which had flown millions over the quarter century ago for secondary routes in Malaysia. It's really old now...tough it's still looks fit to fly...but then from the "appearance" really told its' age...luckily sooner or later...they shall officially went into history with ATR 72 that shall took over the role.

Counting down on the time...erm...20 days more towards flying over...less that 4 weeks to officially commence my ACCA studies...looking at my senior time table over Sunway's website two days ago really put a shock on me...erm...there could be a total of 9 hours class WITHIN a day on some occasions...REALLY NOT an EASY job...prestigious results comes with extra hardworks really portrayed here...as a new student, maybe all what can be done is just mentally and physically well prepared for it...everyone knows ACCA does not come with ease.

For this time being, guess that's all from me. Ending with a couple of pictures...

Here you go:

Views of Tanjung Lobang Bay from Marina Bay...

A sunset / evening view of Sea from Marina Bay...

Bye for now!
