Simply something...

Just to paint a little. I am now typing this post with a laptop.
One more weeks to go before the school reopen. I will have Paper 7 & Paper 10 classes only. With the intention of taking Paper 8 of CAT playing around my mind, which had the title of "Implementing Auditing Procedures"; I had been working on (well, actually meant reading through what's all the content is talking about)it for a week already. Now had covered 6 chapters of reading, well it's not that easy as it's mainly (or can say all) is theory as Paper 5. Whatever it is, just go through to have a glance first, and then fly to KL to enjoy my trip cum visiting various colleges and universities; only than think carefully whether want to attempt this paper my myself or not (as my college do not offer this paper as mentioned before).
I had invited some other classmates to think about it also. The respond seems nice. Just see how it goes later on. With the pressure of Paper 5 still in our mind, making a wise decision is not that easy. As always, Management subjects sucks as your language command need to be very good, which mean that English is of great concerns!
OK! That's all for this round. Waiting for next post la!
By the way, Happy "22 annivesary" to Chen Sze (if you did see it within this week, anyway I will message you again next monday.).
Bye bye.

Painting a little…

With time elapsed little by little; it would only take two more weeks to “execute” my booking to KL. Lets see how it goes by then…
This year may mark a new benchmark for me, as I would be “outstation” from Miri with the “highest frequency”. CNY for about 3 days, March trip about 4 days, KL about 9.5 days, and by the year end; perhaps go to KK for about 3 days before continue with holiday in Limbang…and then may be go KL to study liao…what a historical marks…
Hahaha…
Yesterday phoned my “previous colleagues” to discuss about some issues…with a chaos in the management of the tuition centre, she bombarded all the “unsatisfactory feels” to me over the phone; I was like, emmm…you know la. After all, I don’t know whether I should feel “relief” or “sad” as they didn’t call me back since last December, with my initial planning to run exams orientated tuition class being just a plan only, never stand a change to put into action. And just to mention a little bit, apart from management chaos; they did scale down the size of the “businesses”, which in turn reduced the income available; thereby also reducing the income “earnable” by the staffs…what a pity.
With inflation growing “exponentially” over time, all of the “earth people” seems having a hard time with the term “cash”. Cash seem being of little value when compared to the past, feeling like experiencing a high “discounted factor” over the past (oops, sorry for using accounting / financial jargons…).
Now, lets cross over to China and Taiwan topic. The most “talked” topic nowadays, I think is of course about “charted flights” (or “direct flights” across the strait). Lets’ see how it go next Friday, just tuned in for the media reports. One of the Taiwan TV station even is going to air a special “documentary” to “commemorate” this historical moment since 1949 (since we know that over the past, the airlines from both side cannot fly directly, need to transit in Hong Kong or Macau).
Talking about study, holidays almost came to an end already, with a week ++ ahead only before “school” reopen. I did manage to get (borrow) a copy of Paper 8 book to take a closer look about the content / syllabus inside. Now in the process of reading Chapter 5, it really seems another theory based paper; just that this one is in financial terms, Paper 5 is non financial terms…need to think carefully…but for anyone who wish to proceed to ACCA, it seems “no choice” as this is the fundamental stage for F8 in ACCA. As I mentioned earlier, just wait for some more time before came to the final decisions lo…
Yesterday messaged my classmate to talk about CBE exams, grate to see that someone is going to take exams already, which mean that I also can clear my Paper 2 exams soon…just need to negotiate about the date of examination with them and the school…
I personally prefer one of the weekends in August la…better still is week 3 or week 4 in that month…also talked about UBS certificate course…surprisingly someone cannot differentiate between UBS & CBE…hai…but that is not important…cheers!
Two days ago I came cross a blog talking about her study in form 6, had her first Maths T exams…but she only manage to get a single digit marks…when I saw it, I really can understand the struggle that she (they) expressed: after all hard works and written a lot of staffs on the answer sheet, only a few points are valid…Ya, form 6 is definitely like that one la…although the standards seems dropping whenever the authority changed the syllabus, there is still a standard remained there to be equivalent to A level certificate…
I think that’s all for now. Bye bye!

just jot something...

Today I saw news for STPM classes (Form 6). The ministry said that they are going to opt for University teaching approaches for sixth form students, which is lecturing and tutorials. To me, is this new? Isn’t it Form 6 = Lecturing already in the first place? Tutorials are really new; I don’t deny that. However, they said that they are going to implement that some of teaching stuffs in the school will only be responsible for STPM classes. I do think that this is good news for current and forthcoming STPM students. Just that the quality of the “lecturing teams” need to be upgraded first so that the graduates can be as competence as the private institutions graduates from the similar programmes.
Now, for those who like to read Chinese novels; I want to introduce a publisher: Odonata Publishing, a local publisher who had produced 6 novels from 2 local writers. I had bought 5 of them and already read 3 of them. I feel quite impressive with it. Didn’t expect that our local writers do can produce quality prose. However, I like the story written by the female writer more as it is more imaginative while the male writer one seems more realistic. Enjoy the power of reading!
With the warning of the crude oil prices to strike 250USD per barrel, the world is really in a hard condition. 140USD per barrel is a terrifying situation already, what more to say 250USD per barrel! Just need tom pray this is no true!
That’s all, bye for now!

Backed to lives…

Well, finally the examination had over for me…now start to having my holidays for around 3 weeks time…
Overall, the questions seems to be moderate or “OK” for me, may be thanks to the last minute “crazy revisions” which may me feel that why time pass so slows & having “dizzy” always (may be crammed too much items inside the brain); seems decades…wahaha! However, the half-month marathon revision had over…Hope that all the three papers that I had attempted for can pass when the results had come out in 10 weeks time from tomorrow (12/6/08)!
Next semester, I would have another 2 more papers of lectures to go: Paper 7- Planning, Control and Performance Management & Paper 10- Managing Finance + the re-sit of the most “horrible” Paper 5- Managing People & Systems, which is merely Management.
Of course, I still had a CBE to undergo for Paper 2- Information for Management Control, which is a 2 hours MCQ test (to be opt for around August gua).
[Side note: May be can consider taking Paper 8: Implementing Auditing Procedures also although this is an option papers & my college also don’t offer this paper. However, if we want to proceed to ACCA qualification, there is no option available. To have a basic 1st is better than struggling one go. But, the trouble is that this is almost a theory based paper; is HARD to do self-study leh! See how it goes 1st after my KL trip on next month.]
Back to other issue, well over the past 10 days, various daily needs had experienced price hike: from rice to petrol (or more accurately gasoline) to transportation fees and other kind of rumours for price hike (like cooking oils) which in turn makes the public to complaints and start to grasp the “golden hours” to go and “抢购” the cheap items (the old inventory price).
Well, when I go out on last Saturday to the markets; I do can really feel the sense of fear & unsecured: Scared that the price for all kinds of goods will experience inflation in the near future, thus they tried their very “best” to keep some inventory in their homes. The most terrible thing is about the cooking oils, the shelves that display the stocks is almost being “cleared up” with only the small packs left over…what a astonishing scene for me…is this the end of the days? I mean you do need to search for additional finance source to keep stocks at homes, right?!
What makes the situation worse is that the global crude oil price is still remained at a high level, staying around at 130-140 USD per barrel. And with the prediction of the possibility to go even higher than ever before in the history, the situation may become worse in the near future. Really don’t know what to say anymore by then…
Next thing, lets talk about aviation again. Well, despite the facts that the global crude oil price stays at a high level; our two airlines operators: MAS & Air Asia are still continuing with the “price fight” to get more people to fly with them. Having to “ignite” the “war” initially, MAS go on with the 3rd phase of their “Everyday Low Fares” promotions within a short period with more great deals to attract more people to fly…
Well, I think to all Malaysian; this is a good news, but I do have one point to say: When they end this promotions programme & resumes to the normal fares, will we still willing to fly with them (with the fares is almost 2.5 times more than promotions rates)? I doubt it very much.
On the other hand, it’s east Malaysia subsidiary: MAS Wings had “create” a history by launching a brand new way to buy air tickets, namely with prepaid cards! It’s really a revolutionary! With the rates of RM180, RM120 & RM 90 depending on the routes; I do think that the price is a little bit cheaper that you go and buy online or buy at the sales office. However, I really wish to see how they categorised theirs’ routes into that three different rates…need to wait for some more time as for the time being, I cant online yet as my home telephone line is experiencing some problems: no sound at all!
While for Firefly, it continues with more zero fares promotions. However, it would sound “strange” as it had “mark” itself as a “low cost carrier” also. The problem is just the seats are limited as they operates with Fokker 50 also like MAS Wings.
And by this year-end, I believe we can see the new aircrafts bought by MAS Wings & Firefly: the ATR-72 aircraft, which is going to replace Fokker 50 in the next two years.
Lets’ see how it goes…from the time of signing MOU till delivery, it seems fast…see whether it can be made in time or not…
I guess that’s all for the time being, bye for now!
